Enabling growth through brand

With a history dating back to 1885, Perpetual is one of Australia’s largest wealth managers. The organisation was undergoing significant, transformational change. Perpetual wanted to modernise and make the brand more relevant - positioning it for maximum impact and future business growth, and it needed a brand narrative that was consistent and compelling for both internal and external audiences.

BrandMatters mapped out a highly consultative bespoke process involving all parts of the business and Perpetual’s senior leadership team to create a clear brand strategy which reflected and enabled the organisational change.

Clarifying naming, architecture and positioning

Club Menangle, formerly NSW Harness Racing Club (NSWHRC), is an entertainment destination with a rich heritage in the harness racing industry. NSWHRC came to us with some challenging naming and architecture issues in relation to their sport, their club and their venue. The board also wanted to attract new people and local businesses to the sport, the club and the venue.

BrandMatters designed an in-depth research program and used the insights gleaned to formulate clear naming and architecture recommendations and position the club and destination for future growth.

Creating an effective brand portfolio

Independent Brands Australia (IBA) is a division of Australian Liquor Marketers, Metcash’s Liquor pillar. IBA’s national independent retail brands include Cellarbrations, IGA Liquor and The Bottle-O. IBA wanted to increase awareness of their brands and improve internal and customer understanding of what each brand stood for and why a customer would choose them.

Through an extensive portfolio planning process including a qualitative research program, BrandMatters defined the role that each IBA brand played and positioned each of the brands to compete more effectively with larger retail competitors.
