Generic Drugs Outpace Brand Names
Thursday, December 24th, 2009It’s no suprise that brand name prescription drugs sell for a lot more than their generic counterparts. In the US the anti-depressant Prozac sells at one big pharmateutical chain for $782US for 100, 20 milligram pills. The generic equivilant Fluoxetine goes for a bargain $19.99 for the same quantity and dosage.
While generics are usually just as good as the brand names, brand commands a premium in this market as they do any other. Read more here.
